I've been painting, designing, and creating art for my
entire life. It brings me pleasure to send my creations out into the universe
where they will spread joy and make others feel happy, loved, comforted, or
inspired.
Inspiration & Style: Have you noticed I like to
paint rocks? :) I love the feel of rocks and the challenge that presents in
working around the natural grooves, nooks, and crannies. Nature inspires me and
often finds its way into my artwork as subject matter or as patterns. I also
love color and textures. I typically paint in many layers and you will notice
an abundance of brush strokes in my work.
Studio: I live in Arizona. My studio, located in the
desert, is a tucked-away cozy space that has good energy, peace, and endless
inspiration. You can catch a view of the San Tan Mountains from the
window next to my painting table or occasionally see a Barn Owl or Red Hawk
perched nearby. I also spend considerable time in the Arizona mountains where I
immerse myself in nature and absorb inspiration from the peaks, pine, and crisp
air.
Influence: I come from an artistic family. One of my biggest influences is my grandfather, Ralph Hodshon, an artist. He died before I was born, but his work lives on. I have several of his pieces in my home and cherish each one.
I am an RN and graduate of the University of North Carolina (UNC) - Wilmington School of Nursing. My graduate education includes a Master's degree from UNC School of Public Health and a Juris Doctor from UNC School of Law. My diverse education, creativity, and love of the arts has provided me with an amazing and never boring career!
I hope you will enjoy looking around my site. I value
feedback and comments so please send them my way!
With many blessings,
Beth
